Employee Safety is the number one priority at McAbee Construction. The competitive nature of today's construction and fabrication markets demands maximum productivity from all employees along with reduced overhead costs. The most effective way to reach these goals is to keep employees healthy. And beside that, it's the right thing to do...

As a result of our safety program, McAbee is far below the national average for injuries- as much as 600% below the national reporting levels.

Our success is due to our employing a full time safety staff who: Administer company safety programs, investigate accidents and process all reports, coordinate all Worker's Compensation claims, oversee jobsite safety inspections and management and provide safety information and literature.

All new employees are given booklets when hired by McAbee. The first booklet explains general safety practices. We also provide an Emergency handbook that contains first aid instructions for various situations. The third booklet is an alcohol and drug awareness handbook that contains easy to understand rules and illustrations that can be carried in a shirt pocket.

Managers gather at McAbee's home office for a scheduled safety meeting. These meetings discuss new safety techniques, requirements and laws. The information is then disseminated to our field personnel in their weekly (required) safety meeting. (Bob Morgan photo).
