McAbee Construction Online

This is a shot of a Nickel 200 vessel produced by McAbee's vessel division. The vessel itself is 70 feet long and has a diameter of 21 feet and weighed in at 130,000 pounds. Obviously, this unit is too large to ship over road or by rail. Fortunately, McAbee has a private dock adjacent to our facilities on the Black Warrior River (A tributary to the Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway) where barge shipments are loaded. This particular vessel was bound for Brazil, in South America. I like this shot because it shows the massiveness of the vessel. Another thing that I admire in the construction industry is the workers who move these huge items. It's a highly specialized area and is truly amazing to watch them move "mountains".
